ANNOUNCEMENT
For the student enrolment into the first year of the second study cycle at the faculties of the International University of Sarajevo for the 2019/2020 academic year
International University of Sarajevo ("hereinafter: IUS") is carrying out admission and enrollment in the first year of the second cycle of studies in the 2019/2020 academic year. Enrollment will be carried out into the following faculties as follows:

Teaching on all study programs is done in English. The second cycle study lasts one year or two semesters and carries 60 ECTS credits.
Annual tuition is 3,000.00 euros for all study programs apart from the following:
- 3,500.00 euros for the Genetics and Bioengineering study program;
- 3,500.00 euros for the Management study program;
- 4,000.00 euros for the Clinical Psychology study program;
Tuition fees are paid in Bosnian Mark (BAM) calculated per median exchange rate of Central Bank of B&H.
Rights and conditions to participate in the competition are the same for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and for foreign nationals whose foreign higher education qualifications are found to be adequate for continuing education through official process of foreign qualification recognition of if such process established that they have to pass necessary courses as a condition for continuation their education.
The decision on admission into the first year of the second cycle of studies is made by a special Commission of the parent Faculty, which discretionally assesses candidate's acquired title and the learning outcomes of the previous study cycle. The Commission can also determine possible obligation to candidate to pass certain courses in order to gain sufficient knowledge for continuation of studies, and inform candidate thereof. Exceptionally, after reviewing submitted documentation, IUS may invite candidates for an oral interview and, on the basis of interview, make a decision on admission.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT
CITIZENS OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
In order to enroll in the first year of the second cycle at IUS, applicants who are citizens of B&H must submit the following documents:
1. Application form in which applicants must indicate the faculty and study program to which he/she applies (available at www.ius.edu.ba or at the Student Affairs Office);
2. Original or certified copy of the first study cycle diploma as well as the entire academic transcript with all the subjects and grades included;
3. Official document for recognition of qualification for those who obtained qualification outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina or document showing that recognition procedure has been initiated. In exceptional cases, candidates can be admitted conditionally, before foreign high school recognition procedure is ended;
4. CV
5. Birth Certificate;
6. Certificate of Citizenship;
7. Motivational Letter;
8. Two photos, size 6x4;
9. Health Certificate;
10. CIPS certificate.
FOREIGN CITIZENS
In order to enroll in the first year of the second study cycle at IUS, foreign applicants must submit the following documents:
1. Application form in which applicants must indicate the faculty and study program to which he/she applies (available at www.ius.edu.ba or at the Student Affairs Office);
2. Original of a diploma for the last educational level candidate completed as well as the full academic transcript with all the subjects and grades included;
3. Official document for recognition of qualification for those who obtained previous qualification outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina or certificate showing that recognition procedure has been initiated and that delay in issuing recognition document is not caused by candidate. In case that candidate is enrolled based on the certificate, candidate is enrolled conditionally and he/she assumes full responsibility for obtaining official document on recognition of his/her foreign qualification in timely manner;
4. CV;
5. Motivational Letter;
6. Passport copy (with validity period of at least two years);
7. Two photos, size 6x4;
8. Certificate of no criminal record (not older than six months and only for foreign students who are doing residency permit through IUS services
9. Health Certificate (for foreign students who do not get their residence permit through IUS);
ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Candidates applying for admission can submit one of the following documents to prove their English language proficiency:
a. Certificate on achieving minimum score at one of the following international English language exams:
- IBT Internet-Based TOEF (minimum 70), (in Turkey, taken only from University-run test centers*)
- IELTS Academic (minimum 6.0) (taken only from British Council test centers*)
* TOEFL/IELTS Test scores obtained from any other test center (Private Language Courses or similar) will not be admissible as proof of language proficiency at the International University of Sarajevo.
b. High school diploma or graduate or postgraduate university diploma granted upon completion of the program realized in the English language in the country where English is an official language.
c. Proof of having successfully acquired at least 60 ECTS at English medium university, obtained no longer than two (2) academic years before the date of application at IUS (supported by transcript and other relevant documents).
d. Diploma from one of the following high schools:
- AICE diploma: Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education
- IB diploma: International Baccalaureate;
e. Evidence that English is the candidate’s mother tongue.
Candidates holding the FCE certificate with a minimum grade B2 are exempt from ELS Placement exam and can directly sit for ELS Proficiency exam.
Candidates that do not submit a document proving their English language proficiency will take the Proficiency Exam organized by IUS at the beginning of the academic year.
In case a candidate cannot meet one of the criteria for determining the necessary English Language proficiency, the candidate is obliged to attend the English Language School in accordance with the general act of the IUS. The tuition fee for attending the English language is determined by the Founder.
APPLICATIONS AND DEADLINES
Applications with the required documents are to be submitted in person (every working day from 9 AM to 5 PM) to the Student Affairs Office at IUS or via registered mail to:

Application deadline is September 11, 2019.
If the planned number of candidates is not enrolled within the first enrollment deadline, IUS may extend the deadline for submission of applications for admission no later than January 20, 2020, and publish the final list of enrolled students, in which case the beginning of the academic year is determined by the calendar of the organization and realization of curricula. All applicants who applied in the first enrollment period, as well as candidates that did not apply earlier, have the right to apply within the second deadline.
IUS will publish a preliminary rank-list of all applicants and those who are admitted to the IUS faculties on the IUS notice board and IUS website after it is verified by the relevant University body, within two days from the due date for submitting applications for enrolment.
Applicants have a right to submit an appeal on the preliminary rank-list within three days from the day it was published.
IUS will announce the final list of admitted students no later than five days after the preliminary rank list is published.
Within seven days from the date of publication of the final ranking list, the candidate who has obtained the right to enroll is obliged to submit the original documents to the organizational unit, otherwise he is deemed to have given up his enrollment to the study program for which he applied.
If a sufficient number of candidates do not apply to a particular study program, IUS reserves the right not to initiate the subject study program in 2019/2020 study year.
In case IUS does not enroll the planned number of BiH citizens, IUS reserves the right to add an additional number of foreign students within the total quota for this study program, and vice versa.
