Dr. Joseph J. Kaminski Published Book: “The Contemporary Islamic Governed State: A Reconceptualization”

Recently, Dr. Joseph J. Kaminski published his first book titled: “The Contemporary Islamic Governed State: A Reconceptualization”, in Khaled Abou El Fadl’s prestigious series at Palgrave Macmillian.  His book offers a unique normative re-conceptualization of Islamic governance largely based upon Ancient Greek and Medieval Islamic thought coupled with the most up-to-date empirical and theoretical literature in the social sciences. 

Thus far the book has been received positively and he has been interviewed in Ta’seel Commons about his work.  His book is scheduled to be reviewed in major international outlets including the London School of Economics Review of Books, Politics and Religion, Critical Muslim, and the American Journal of Islamic Social Sciences.  He is also in negotiations regarding translations into Arabic and Albanian languages.
