New Erasmus+ Agreements Bring Opportunities for IUS Political Science and International Relations Department

The Department of Political Science and International Relations at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) has signed two new Erasmus+ agreements, further strengthening its international cooperation network and creating valuable academic mobility opportunities for students and staff.

The agreements have been established with the following partner institutions:

  1. The Department of Global and Development Studies and the Institute of Political and International Studies, Faculty of Social Science, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest, Hungary

  2. Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, Slovakia

The agreement with Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) has been incorporated into the Erasmus+ ICM KA171 Project for the 2025–2028 cycle, marking a particularly significant milestone for IUS. This partnership provides a rare and valuable opportunity for PhD students to participate in international mobility during their third-cycle studies at IUS—a possibility that is seldom available within Erasmus+ frameworks. In addition to doctoral mobility, the agreement also includes student exchanges and staff mobility for teaching purposes. The first exchange activities are expected to take place during the 2026/2027 academic year, with applications and nominations opening in spring 2026.

The partnership with Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice further expands mobility opportunities, especially in the areas of political science and international relations, offering both students and academic staff new avenues for collaboration, research, and intercultural learning.

These new Erasmus+ agreements reaffirm the Department’s strong commitment to internationalization and its continuous efforts to provide the IUS community with broader academic, professional, and cultural exchange opportunities across Europe.
