Prof. Joseph J. Kaminski’s Article Accepted in The Journal of Politics
Prof. Dr. Joseph J. Kaminski from the Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) study program at the IUS Faculty of Business and Administration (FBA) has recently achieved a significant milestone with the acceptance of his solo-authored article titled, “Looking East: Perfectionism, Public Reason Confucianism, and the Construction of Islamicate Public Reason” in The Journal of Politics.
This accomplishment is particularly significant given that The Journal of Politics is considered one of Political Science’s “Big Three” journals, alongside The American Political Science Review and The American Journal of Political Science. As such, it represents one of the most prestigious and competitive venues for scholarly research in the field.
The Journal of Politics is indexed in the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) and according to the latest Scimago Journal Rankings, is ranked inside the top 1.5% of all Political Science journals worldwide, underscoring the exceptional quality and impact associated with work published in its pages. This publication also marks an important achievement for the broader academic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Professor Kaminski is, to the best of our knowledge, the first Bosnia-based scholar to publish a solo-authored article in one of Political Science’s Big Three journals. His achievement also brings well-deserved international visibility to Political Science research conducted at IUS. It sets a valuable precedent and inspiration for emerging and established scholars in the region who aspire to contribute to global academic debates at the highest level.
