International panel-conference: Sokolovići: New Insights, New Approaches

IUS Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) Department, in collaboration with the IUS Balkan Studies Center (BSC) will host the international panel-conference “Sokolovići: New Insights, New Approaches”, marking 470 years since the founding of Rudo and the Waqf Deed of Kara Mustafa Pasha Sokolović (1555).

The conference is jointly organized by the Muftiate of Goražde and the Islamic Community of Rudo, in collaboration with IUS, the Oriental Institute and the Institute of History of the University of Sarajevo, Istanbul University, and the General Directorates of Archives and Foundations of the Republic of Türkiye.

Prominent historians, heritage researchers, and scholars will discuss the cultural and historical legacy of Kara Mustafa Pasha Sokolović, his endowments, and their lasting impact on contemporary society.
