IUS’ Associate Professor Dr. Joseph J. Kaminski as Research Associate on Prestigious Project Funded by World-Renowned John Templeton Foundation
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Joseph J. Kaminski was invited to be an on-going Research Associate tasked with leading Contemporary Governance Research Cluster 1: Bosnia and Herzegovina in a 3-year, $1,999,00 project titled “Islamic Public Value: Theory, Theology, and Practice of Indigenous Cooperative Governance Institutions,” funded by the John Templeton Foundation.
The project is led by Wolfgang Drechsler (Tallinn University of Technology and University College London), Rainer Kattel (University College London), and Salah Chafik (University College London). Professor Kaminski's first output as cluster leader will be a book chapter co-authored with Senior Assistant Dr. Hamza Preljević and Assistant Prof. Dr. Mustafa Krupalija that discusses the history of vakuf administration in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a focus on the case of the Gazi Husrev-beg vakuf.
Dr. Kaminski will also participate in a workshop related to this book chapter and other aspects of the project in Bangkok, Thailand at the end of May 2024. The edited book that this chapter will be published in is currently under contract with Edward Elgar Publishing and is expected to be in print by the end of 2024.
